Veterinary Assistant Training-Finish Veterinary Assistant training in just 5 weeks! Our Veterinary Assistant courses will prepare you to assist the Veterinarian or Veterinarian Technician in their daily tasks such as feeding, watering, and examining pets for signs of illness, disease or injury. This program combines 35 hours of classroom instruction with a 24 hour volunteer experience you will coordinate in your local area. Over the course of five weeks we prepare students to clean and disinfect cages and work areas, as well as sterilize laboratory and surgical equipment in laboratories, animal hospitals and clinics. Offered in partnership with Boston Reed College.
Pharmacy Technician Training- Our Pharmacy Technician program will prepare you to work in a retail pharmacy and help you pass a national certification exam. We combine 182 hours of classroom instruction with a 120-hour pharmacy externship to give you on-the-job experience (Externship hours vary by state). Over the course of seven months you will gain exposure to the preparation of medications, maintaining client records, assisting with inventory control, purchasing, collecting payments, coordinating billing, and much more. Offered in partnership with Boston Reed College.
Clinical Medical Assisting - Offered at New Haven Adult School in partnership with Boston Reed College, the Clinical Medical Assistant program will prepare you to assist a physician, provide care to patients in a doctor’s office or clinic, and will also prepare you to take the national certification exam. The program combines 134 hours of classroom instruction with 160 hours in a medical office externship. You will gain exposure to job duties that include assisting physicians with exams and minor surgery, taking patient vital signs, caring for patients, performing lab tests, administering medications, electrocardiography and much more. Offered in partnership with Boston Reed College.

Phlebotomy for Medical Professionals - This program provides instruction in the art of drawing blood. It is intended for medical assistants, emergency medical technicians, vocational nurses, registered nurses, and physicians who use or plan to use phlebotomy skills within their scope of work. Students will become proficient in venipuncture with syringe, vacutainer, butterfly, and fingerstick methods built upon a foundation of basic principles of venous anatomy, physiology, and sterile technique. Upon successful completion of program, the student will receive a certificate of completion from Boston Reed College.
